Nowadays mp3 is still largely the most used format because of the vaste amount of music available in that format, the hardware that supports it (and not the alternatives like flac or ogg) and the knowledge of the people. For those reasons, I'll keep publishing my music in the MP3 format. When that changes, I'll be happy to change to free alternatives.

That said, I have no problem in posting some content (not everything, of course) in OGG or FLAC (or whatever) by popular demand.

: Well, if so, what about FLAC instead MP3, Ogg or WAV? FLAC is a lossless codec, so it is suitable for any kind of sound processing without quality loss. It also needs much less disk space than WAV. FLAC is even supported by many hardware players nowadays. Its popularity grows stadily. By the way, it is also completely free of patents.
